Probably my
favorite quote in the world was expressed by Susan B. Anthony, an American
civil rights and women’s rights and women’s suffrage leader who lived from
1820-1906. An amazing woman of her time,
she paved the way for women of future generations.
For a period of time she gave nearly one hundred speeches a year. I’ve included her memorable quote, along with
photos of mine that I felt matched the sentiment she expressed.
"SOONER OR LATER WE ALL DISCOVER THAT THE IMPORTANT MOMENTS IN LIFE ARE NOT THE ADVERTISED ONES, NOT THE BIRTHDAYS, THE GRADUATIONS, THE WEDDINGS, NOT THE GREAT GOALS ACHIEVED. THE REAL MILESTONES ARE LESS PREPOSSESSING. THEY COME TO THE DOOR OF MEMORY UNANNOUNCED, STRAY DOGS THAT AMBLE IN, SNIFF AROUND A BIT, AND SIMPLY NEVER LEAVE. OUR LIVES ARE MEASURED BY THESE."
